Position Summary
The Senior OpenShift Administrator is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing Red Hat OpenShift environments to support enterprise application platforms. This role ensures high availability, scalability, security, and performance of containerized workloads while guiding junior administrators and collaborating with DevOps, security, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain OpenShift clusters (on-premises, cloud, or hybrid).
Manage cluster operations, including upgrades, patches, monitoring, logging, and backup.
Configure and administer Kubernetes-native services within OpenShift.
Implement security best practices: RBAC, network policies, compliance, and vulnerability scanning.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.
Troubleshoot complex issues in containers, pods, networking, and storage.
Optimize performance, resource utilization, and cost efficiency of the platform.
Support CI/CD pipelines integration with OpenShift (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD, Tekton).
Document processes, policies, and architectural standards.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior administrators.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5–7 years of experience in Linux system administration, with at least 3 years focused on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Strong knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) internals.
Hands-on expertise with containers (Docker/Podman), operators, and service mesh.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Go).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid deployments.
Familiarity with DevOps tooling (CI/CD, GitOps, monitoring, observability).
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (preferred).
