Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Windows Desktop Engineer to join our global infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Tanium, with a focus on maintaining, securing, and optimizing desktop systems across a large enterprise environment.
This is a remote role based in India, supporting a U.S.-based financial services organization. The role requires strong technical knowledge, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while aligning with U.S. time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and manage Windows desktop environments across the enterprise using SCCM and Tanium.
Package, test, and deploy software updates, patches, and security configurations.
Build and maintain standardized desktop images (WIM) and task sequences for automated deployments.
Monitor and remediate compliance, performance, and security issues using Tanium modules (e.g., Deploy, Patch, Discover, Comply).
Perform hardware and software inventory management and ensure endpoint health.
Implement and support Group Policies (GPOs), security baselines, and compliance standards.
Collaborate with security and IT operations teams to apply patches and mitigate vulnerabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop and application issues.
Provide 3rd-level support for desktop-related incidents and escalations.
Maintain accurate documentation, automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell), and reporting dashboards.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Windows Desktop Engineering in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)
Tanium platform for endpoint management and security
Deep understanding of Windows 10/11, desktop image creation, deployment, and hardening.
Experience with software packaging, patching, and compliance reporting.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
Familiarity with Active Directory, GPOs, and enterprise desktop security tools.
Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively across remote teams in a regulated environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MD-102, Windows Client, Endpoint Administrator Associate).
Experience with Tanium administration and reporting.
Exposure to ITIL practices, ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with Intune, Autopilot, or Azure AD-joined devices.
Work Environment
100% Remote (India-based)
Must be available during U.S. business hours (EST/PST)
